Are IVHQ a fraud company?

I found a volunteer project in Costa Rica with a company called International Volunteer HQ [IVHQ] which looks amazing but then on Reddit there are a lot of negative reviews and some people even calling the company a fraud? So my questions is should I avoid volunteering with IVHQ? I still want to go but these experiences have made me think twice and maybe just booking a tour would be better??!!
