It is very hard to find short term and seasonal jobs.

Education & Teaching
One of the most popular ways to live and work in South America is by becoming an English or language teacher. There is a huge demand for foreign language speakers and thousands of people teach English and other subjects at language schools, educational institutions and giving private lessons. 

Travel & Tourism
You can find jobs for backpackers and travellers but these are quite difficult to get. Most can be found with hotels, tourist work like becoming an activity instructor or working as a tour guide.
