Café Mambo had humble beginnings, but what started with the small spark of an idea and a dilapidated finca on the coastal rocks of San Antonio has grown into a worldwide phenomenon.
Established in 1994 by Javier Anadon, the first ever Mambo opening party was packed largely thanks to word of mouth (that’s how they did it back then!) and soundtracked by Bob Dylan’s The Time’s They Are A-Changin’, a tune that proved prescient.
Before long, Café Mambo was the hottest ticket in town and everyone from music industry insiders to tourists and locals were vying for a sunset spot.
